STUDYING OPENS NEW WAYS OF UNDERSTANDING:

Verse 1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want

When I claim God as my only support and live like it …

–          Psalms 62:5-8

–          Lamentations 3:24-26

I won’t have to worry about being in need of necessities

–          Philippians 4:19

Verse 2  He makes me to lie down in Green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters.

At the moment of delivering me from my bondage to self and sin God gives me rest the sabbath is a weekly celebration of this work for all of humanity and it becomes personal when I am freed…

–          Matthew 11:28

I am then willing to be led by His word into a life of truth which gives my soul peace beyond the worldly troubles

–          Ezekiel 36:25

Verse 3  He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.

With this peace and new relationship comes restoration to me as a person and into the eternal family all done by Jesus through the workings…

–          Ezekiel 36:26

And of the Holy Spirit as He promised He would do if we accepted His offer when He shed His blood

–          Ezekiel 36:22

Verse 4  Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.

As I follow God, He leads me through experiences that show me my faults like:  pride, self-reliance or distrust so I will give them up as these things will keep me from allowing God to completely have full power in my life…

–          Psalms 44:19

–          Deuteronomy 36:39

Knowing He has only my eternal good at heart helps me to bear through the dark time of death to self because I know He has not left me totally but stepped away slightly so I would understand that there is still something keeping us apart and what real denial of God will be

–          Proverbs 3:12

Verse 5  You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over.

Through all of this earthly life, God is still planning a good end for me even though so much evil seem to be winning…

–          Isaiah 33:16

–          Psalms 37:25

Verse 6  Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

–          Mathew 5:16

–          Proverbs 16:7

–          Revelation 22:14
